Alianza and LULAC Team Up to Raise Awareness About Domestic
Violence
Alianza is pleased to announce a new partnership with the League of United
Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the oldest and one of the largest Latino
civil rights organizations in the country. We are joining forces
in order to expand our public awareness and outreach efforts to Latino
communities around the country.
Joint activities between Alianza and LULAC will include:
-
Participating in LULAC's Florida state convention Proyecto La Luz
Town Hall Meeting: Shining a Light on Domestic Violence
in the Latino Community, which took place on May 28
in Clearwater, Florida. Patricia Castillo, an Alianza Board member
served on a panel entitled Domestic Violence: The impact on my family
and community/La Violencia Domestica: El impacto sobre mi familia
y comunidad. LULAC donated a convention booth where Alianza distributed
brochures, reports, and other educational materials.
-
Working jointly to create public awareness messages that will resonate
with various sectors of our communities.
- Helping produce a poster to be widely distributed nationally via
LULAC's 600 local chapters.
