ˇNO MAS SILENCIO! Campaign

No Mas Silencio

We are proud to announce that the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation (MKACF) continues to break the silence on domestic violence with a Spanish-language awareness campaign, ˇNo Más Silencio!  MKACF eliminates language and cultural barriers to encourage women to speak out on domestic violence, the silent plague that devastates all communities. The Campaign will also reach out to men who are ready to stop being violent, encouraging them to seek help, as well encourage non-violent men to take a public stance against domestic violence.

Throughout October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the MKACF, in partnership with the Self Reliance Foundation, the Hispanic Communications Network and the National Latino Alliance for the Elimination of Domestic Violence, will launch a multi-media Spanish-language campaign distributed through a series of radio programs, newspaper columns, and an Information and Referral Service used to connect people directly to resources in their community. The ˇNo Más Silencio! Campaign will inform and educate the Hispanic community about the dangers of domestic violence and the resources available to empower women to speak up against domestic violence and to provide assist men who are ready to stop their use of violence.  During the creation of this Campaign, Alianza provided technical assistance so that the messages transmitted would have the necessary information and be sensitive to the communities reached by the campaign.

More than 200 radio stations all over the country will air Public Service Announcements (PSA) on the topic.  In addition, on the dates below, a special one-hour live show will invite listeners to call in with their questions on domestic violence and specialists will speak on the issue and respond. Special guests will share their support and their own stories linked to domestic violence\
