Religion, Spirituality and the Latina Survivor of Domestic Violence

Religion and spirituality have shaped the ways in which Latinos/as approach and respond to life situations including domestic violence. This webinar will focus on the healing aspects of spirituality in a Latina survivor of abuse. Through this training, service providers will be able to work more effectively with Latino communities and families.

This webinar will examine and discuss:

  • A glance into Latino communities in the United States
  • Latinas and Culture - understanding the culture in order to provide culturally appropriate services
  • How Latinas have creatively weaved religion and spirituality into the fabric of their daily lives
  • Culturally Appropriate Service Provision
  • The importance of advocates developing relationships with religious and faith leaders

Una plática para asesores de victimas, directores de programas, consejeros de crisis, intercesores legales y líderes espirituales que trabajan con Latinas practicantes de su fe.

La religión y la espiritualidad forman una parte integral en la manera en que las Latinas responden a situaciones de la vida diaria, incluyendo la violencia doméstica. Esta plática se enfocará en los aspectos curativos de la espiritualidad en la vida de una Latina sobreviviente de violencia doméstica. A través de esta plática los proveedores de servicio podrán trabajar más eficientemente con las comunidades Latinas.

Esta plática examinará y discutirá los siguientes temas:
